Water-Source Heat Pump
Water-Source Heat Pump
The water-source heat pump provides heating and cooling for local spaces. It uses similar components to an air conditioner and a reversing valve to direct refrigerant flow. A single unit can provide both heating and cooling to the local space.

Filter Section: A filter section cleans the air entering the unit.
Air-To-Refrigerant Coil: The air-to-refrigerant coil transfers heat from the air to the refrigerant or vice versa. Depending on the mode of operation, it will serve as a condenser or evaporator.
Fan: The fan circulates air to the refrigerant coil and to the distribution system.
Motor: The motor rotates the fan.
Fluid-To-Refrigerant Coil: The fluid-to-refrigerant coil transfers heat from fluid to refrigerant or vice versa. Depending on the mode of operation, it will serve as a condenser or evaporator.
Compressor: The compressor circulates refrigerant through the system. It compresses the refrigerant gas to create a pressure difference between the evaporator and the condenser. This enables the transfer of heat from a cooler system to a warmer system.
Controls: Safety and temperature controls help properly operate the unit.
Water Inlet and Outlet: Water inlet and outlet supplies condensing water to the unit.
Water Inlet and Outlet: Water inlet and outlet supplies condensing water to the unit.
